Feel like you never have enough time to get things done at work? We may have a solution for you and it may surprise you.
You start every day with big plans. You got all these goals. Everything is on your list of things to do and you hardly make a dent in it. And you feel very frustrated.
Well there’s a good chance that it’s not about your productivity but the fact that you have packed so many activities into your schedule that when something unexpected happens (boom). It all blows up.
It’s a common problem. You’re simply putting too many things into your day. I suggest that you build in a few blocks of free time into your day. Could be 15 minutes. Could be 30 minutes. You could split it up.
But the idea is you can’t touch that time. It is blocked off on your schedule.
You can’t have someone sneak in a meeting request or something like that. The idea is when the unexpected thing happens and you know it will, you don’t go into a panic because you’re trying to get everything done.
You’ve got a little extra time to play with. Maybe something doesn’t happen unexpectedly on that day. Guess what? You have a chance to catch up on everything or even start to plan ahead.
Give yourself just a little bit of a cushion. Make yourself feel more comfortable. Sometimes productivity is about having less things on your schedule. Give a shot.
