This year’s holiday card takes you to a relatively quiet corner of the Las Vegas Strip. As you know, my work takes me to all sorts of interesting places. While all have their merits, some boast better views. Las Vegas is like an all you can eat buffet for the eyes.
For those who are curious, I didn’t gamble during my visit. While I once hit the jackpot on a nickel slot machine (earning me a little more than $75), I decided I would pass up the chance to make a fortune or potentially lose one.
My schedule was also somewhat fluid with my client, so I wasn’t able to plan to attend any shows.
Instead, I decided during any free, after-hours time, I would walk around the Strip. I would experience the spectacle of Las Vegas, as I walked from one resort from the next.
This year’s picture was taken at the Linq outdoor shopping and entertainment district. In the background, you’ll see the High Roller ferris wheel. Closer in is a water fountain, with changing colored lights.
The spot provides a nice place to sit and take a break. Conceivably, an out of town visitor could use the spot as a place to eat an In-And-Out Burger from a nearby store, which I may or may not have enjoyed.
You may remember last year’s holiday card, which featured the Seine River in Paris. I took the shot, while taking a walk, despite feeling a little jetlagged from travel.
This year, it was a similar principle. Yes, I could have just stayed in my hotel room and put my feet up. But instead, I choose to go out and explore the area. My 2018 holiday card photo is a product of my wanderings.
In the coming year, I urge you to consider the priceless moments that may be happening nearby. Don’t be afraid to get off the couch and seek them out.
Thank you for being a part of my personal and business lives. I’m proud that often my connections become both!
