This year’s holiday card (card19) offers you a great view of some flowers. My annual tradition sees me feature a picture I’ve taken over the past year and showcase it in a one of a kind card.
This year’s edition was taken in Key Largo, Florida. I was there two times this year for motivational keynote speaking engagements. Back in June, while I was focused on getting ready for my talk, I couldn’t resist taking a minute to capture the flowers with my iPhone.
For me, the image is a good reminder that even when we are in all business mode, it’s good to keep your eyes open for inspiring things. Sometimes, they don’t last. When I returned to the same property for a talk in October, the flowers were no longer blooming.
You may remember 2018’s holiday card featured a relatively quiet corner of the Las Vegas Strip. As you know, my work takes me to all sorts of interesting places. While all have their merits, some boast better views. Las Vegas is like an all you can eat buffet for the eyes.
Back then, my schedule was somewhat fluid with my client, so I wasn’t able to attend any shows. Instead, I decided during any free, after-hours time, I would walk around the Strip. I would experience the spectacle of Las Vegas, as I moved from one resort from the next.
The picture was taken at the Linq outdoor shopping and entertainment district. In the background, you’ll see the High Roller ferris wheel.
Our 2017 holiday card, featured the Seine River in Paris. I took the shot, while taking a walk, despite feeling a little jet-lagged from travel.
In 2018, it was a similar principle. Yes, I could have just stayed in my hotel room and put my feet up. Instead, I choose to go out and explore the area. My holiday card photos have become a product of these wanderings.
In the coming year, I urge you to consider the priceless moments that may be happening nearby. Take the time to seek them out.
Thank you for being a part of my personal and business lives. I’m proud that often my connections become both!
