Video Transcript for Find Your Productivity Motivation
We talk a lot about becoming more productive but do you have the motivation to change? I want you to think about what is the benefit you will get if you’re more productive. For instance, maybe you get to go home on time. Maybe you don’t have to work so much on the weekends and spend more time with your family.
Get that knowledge in your mind and hold onto it, especially when you may be making choices that waste your time. So this way you can check yourself and say, “Nope, not going to happen. I’m not going to do that because I want to focus on the benefit of being more productive.”
Let me give you a fun little example. I first became aware productivity when I was a little boy. I grew up in Ohio. When it would snow outside, it would be big time fun. Go outside and play in the snow.
I learned, about productivity at that young age, even though I really didn’t understand the word. Because I realized that if I could get my boots on, my jacket, my mittens, my hat, the scarf, all that stuff on, quickly, where I knew where those items were and put them on. Well, the faster I could do that, the faster I can go outside and play in the snow. And that was a big deal to me
So I had the motivation to make sure things were organized. I was able to put the extra layer of clothing on without a problem.
I had the motivation and I knew the pay off. Find the pay off in your world that will make you want to be more productive on the job.
