Do you know someone who’s stuck? He or she can’t find the solution to problem that’s holding them back.
Before the can Clear the Path of these challenges, you have to do some self-examination. Very often, we have something to do with why we aren’t achieving our goals. Do you:
- Talk about losing weight as you order dessert?
- Tell people how you hate your job and/or personal relationships but do nothing to change either?
- Turn up the car radio so you have to hear a disturbing engine noise you don’t like?
In all of these cases, it’s not the problem that’s holding you back. It’s you! You’re stuck in a state of comfort that keeps you from wanting to change.
With that in mind, I give you the phrase, Love It Or Shove It. Most problems in life can be addressed with those five words.
Think of it like this: If you were on a sinking ship, would you just sit on a deck chair? You should be looking to get on a life boat. At some point you have to say to yourself that either you’re going to embrace sinking or decide to make the effort to get off the boat. Love It Or Shove It.
You’re not allowed to have an in between in these situations. That’s where you’ve been, unhappy but not motivated enough to take action.
For those problems that keep coming up in your life, start asking yourself, Love It Or Shove It? If your answer is, Love It, then that’s where you stay and you should get comfortable.
But if you’re serious about changing your situation, make the decision that you won’t go back to where you’ve been.
This isn’t an instant change. If you want a better job, you may need to go back to school, which will take time. But by deciding to, Shove It, then you make the decision to sign up for those classes today and stop talking about them in dreamy tones.
Make Love It Or Shove It your mantra and see how your life can change. Stop living your life in limbo.
