Do you spend enough time doing the important things? How much time are you spending on your top five priorities on the job? Identify those priorities and then consider, over a week or two, how much time you actually spending on them.
My guess is they’re often getting pushed to the side by little emergencies or other things that are coming up or tasks that you have to do but they’re not your top five priorities.
Remember those top five? Those are the things that you’re judged on and they move the needle in your job. So you want to focus on them as much as possible.
See if those other tasks, do you really need to be doing them? Can you delegate them, perhaps to other people or is there some sort of automation that could take care of them.
Honor those top five task as much as you can. Suddenly your productivity may improve
