Want to improve employee engagement? A two word question can make a big difference. When I worked as a TV news reporter, this two word question always got me good soundbites, whether it was new information rephrased, or something I haven’t thought about asking.
That two word question: “Anything else?
It opens the door for someone to supply more information, to share other thoughts. Will this question work with your team?
When you’re making a big decision ask people, “Anything else?” When you’re doing an employee evaluation ask, “Anything else?”
This way you’re giving someone a green light to give you some additional information, some extra feedback.
They may not do it if you don’t ask. Let people know that their opinions are valued and will be considered. The question, “Anything else?” is a great way to improve employee engagement.
