You hate distractions but do you create them? Effective leaders hate distractions because it hurts productivity. It takes the focus off the important stuff.

So are you maybe creating a few distractions on your own? Things that keep your staff not focused on the task but instead on your behavior.

The need to be right. Some leaders feel their way has to be the only way. They’re not willing to listen to alternative viewpoints. Perhaps someone did something differently in another place.

My suggestion: have an open mind listen to people. Doesn’t mean you have to follow what they’re telling you but by considering it, you show that you value that person’s opinion.

When you just dismiss a suggestion right away, a person tends to tune you out, they tend to gossip about it afterwords, things are getting done.
